Man…I really hate Valentine’s Day. I always have, and I can’t forsee any reason why I always won’t. If you know me, this probably isn’t surprising. For one, I’m a cynical and beautifully realistic person. For two, I just don’t really get too jazzed up about holidays in general, except Thanksgiving, which I love. I actually really dislike every other holiday. They’re stupid.
However, I have a 9-year-old. Valentine’s Day means a party at school. Luckily, I have an awesome 9-year-old who picked out the coolest Valentines I’ve ever seen…even my hatred for this holiday was temporarily shunted aside by my love for Batman…
I won’t buy candy, though. No way. We usually make some kind of treat for Turbo to take with her Valentines to school so that she can also actually eat it. The other kids probably think that I suck, but Turbo loves it and I don’t really care what the other kids think. This year, I made two kinds of mini muffins: raspberry and blueberry for her to take to school tomorrow.
In more news, tonight after school, Turbo has competitive swimming, yoga, and a piano recital. To pep her up for her busy night I’m making chili with bread bowls for dinner, which is one of her favorite meals. Here’s hoping she has an awesome night!
