What is it about trying to head out the door? Does anyone ever manage to leave on time? A long time ago, when we first began to travel without Turbo, Manlegs and I made a “closed door” agreement when it came to leaving. Basically, once the door has closed behind you, there’s no going back. There’s no worrying, there’s no stress, there’s nothing that can be helped any longer once that door shuts. You just have to leave. Whatever you forgot to do, whatever you forgot to pack…it’s done until you get back.
Heading out the door during show season is hard. There are so many reports you need. There is so much work to be done. There are so many schedules to adhere to, and to instruct others about. Lining out Turbo, getting all of her events down on paper in a format that is easy for her sitter (whoever that may be) to follow. But, still, the closed door agreement stands. When the door shuts, we move on.
The door is shut. Let the shows begin.
