If you know me, you know that I LOVE a good book. Actually, I love books. I will read absolutely anything and everything handed to me. This is why I’m not allowed in bookstores anymore.
One of my favorite things ever is starting off a new year with a big fat stack of new books. In this, the “electronic age” I have a kindle, two iPads, and all of the possible apps for every e-reading program known to mankind. But I still love BOOKS. Seriously, the crisp new binding, the feel of the paper, the smell of the ink. I love everything about new books, and old books, and just…books. I understand the practicality of e-readers. I get that they make perfect sense for people like me who read a book a day. For traveling alone, e-readers make sense. I used to have to pack an entire bag of just books when we went anywhere, and I’d still generally run out. On one memorable vacation I went through my bag of books and read our entire guide book for Costa Rica just to have something to read. I picked up a book at the airport and had it finished before we landed for our next connection. I love to read.
I have started this year off with a bang by purchasing this book as soon as I was humanly able.
The best part about a book like this is that it says to everyone: “See? You CAN change the world. Just by yourself. Just try it.”
So…just try it. Go out there and change the world today. Even if what you do is small and benefits only a few…you’ve done something great.
P.S. Read this book. It is incredible.
